4 years, 8.8 million.

I'm very happy about this. I can't remember us having a defenseman who could effectively move the puck and play defense at the same time (at least, not at the point of their career when they played for us). We've had some who could move the puck (Tanabe, Ozolinsh) and plenty who could play defense, but doing them at the same time seems to be an ability in short supply. If he would learn to hit people, he could add a million or two onto his annual salary, but I'm not going to complain at this point - two out of three ain't bad.
