ECSF - Game 1

Wow. That was an impressive show by the Canes today. They did just about everything right and New Jersey did just about everything wrong. A 6-0 win, 5 power play goals, and a shutout. We even chased Marty Brodeur.

It's one win and we need three more. The rest of the games won't be this easy, so the guys need to keep working hard and keep throwing pucks at the net. The Devils are frustrated and angry at having just dumped a 15 game winning streak down the drain. Game two on Monday night should be a good one.

Brodeur has been pulled three times in his career. Once was tonight. Another time was earlier this year (October 15th) against us again. Maybe we have his number. Too soon to tell, but this should be an interesting series.

I've been reading a lot of comments on Canes and Devils forums. The Devils forums are understandably upset. They seem to think that this loss embarrassed the team and we have "awakened" the giant that is the Devils. The Canes haven't played well at the end of the season. Has anyone considered that Montreal woke us up and we're not playing to our potential? Some of the comments on the forum I read were well past rude and into crass and classless. I would like nothing happier for the Devils to be hammered mercilessly. I have no control over that, of course, but it would be nice to jam it down their throats.
