I was going to write about how the injuries on the Canes are really mounting up, with
Kaberle out 4-6 months following shoulder surgery. As I went looking for a link, I immediately went into a non-repeatable litany of curses and exclamations upon seeing this tidbit:
Fifteen years?! Is this what you get when you put your backup goalie in as General Manager? It's too much of a shock right now to analyze exactly what this will mean, but man. That's just obscene.

Apparently, this is what you get when you put your backup goalie as your GM.
No. This has nothing to do with Garth Snow. The EXACT same offer was made last summer. 15 years, $67.5M. Mike Milbury was "in charge" back then, but it had nothing to do with him either. No.
This is what happens when you have an imbecile for an owner. Charles Wang is the first to admit that he knows nothing about hockey. Apparently he knows nothing about running a business, either.
Last summer, according to reports, when the EXACT SAME deal was offered, Gary Bettman stepped in and said words to the effect of "Stop the insanity". This summer, they let it go, but the league office had some indirect criticism of the deal.
