This is kind of amusing to me. One of the Canadian hockey players (originally submitted, not actually on the final roster) tested positive for a banned substance by the World Anti-Doping Agency. It wasn't a steroid, it was a "masking agent" sometimes used to hide steroids. The masking agent is evidently found in hair growth formula, like Rogaine.
Some poor guy wants to stop male pattern baldness and he's banned from international play? Wow, that's harsh. The player wasn't named in the article and he is pending appeal.
Update - OK, this got me giggling. The player in question is none other than Jose Theodore of the Montreal Canadiens. This guy is having a rough season to begin with, now the fans - who are already screaming for his blood - have extra ammo. I changed the title because I discovered that he's using Propecia, not Rogaine, at the advice of his dermatologist.
